Wireless Emergency Alert Testing

Post Date:09/06/2018 10:13 AM

FEMA will conduct a test of the Wireless Emergency Alert and Emergency Alert System on October 3 from 11:18 – 11:20 p.m. The WEA message will stay active for 30 minutes, from 11:18 – 11:48 p.m. This means that during that time, all cell phones turned on and within range of an active cell tower will receive the test message. PLEASE NOTE THIS IS ONLY A TEST!!

This is a good reminder to our residents to sign up for our local alert system, Alert RivCo, that is used to alert and warn residents and businesses of Riverside County in the event of emergencies such as wildfires, floods, hazardous materials, severe weather, and certain law enforcement incidents. Alert RivCo is part of a group of alert and warning tools used in Riverside County.
