City of La Quinta Declares Local Emergency
Yesterday, the La Quinta City Council passed a resolution declaring a local emergency in the City in response to the novel coronavirus “COVID-19” pandemic. The City has been following the Riverside County Health Officer’s recommendations and mandates. Currently, the City has closed all City facilities, cancelled all events, programs, classes and today closed City Hall to the public.
As per the Riverside County Health Officer’s order, the presence of 10 or more individuals are prohibited regardless of venue; because of that local restaurants are providing the following services: drive-thru, curbside pick-up, and take-out. All restaurants in La Quinta must be in compliance with these new mandates which are punishable by law. All bars in La Quinta are closed. The City is closely following the Riverside County Health Officer’s recommendations as they continue to change.
