- Top professional triathletes from around the world head to Southern California to compete for $40,000 prize purse
LA QUINTA, Calif. (Dec. 5, 2025) – The IRONMAN 70.3 La Quinta triathlon returns to Southern California’s Coachella Valley with over 2,500 registered athletes set to compete. Race weekend kicks off on Friday, Dec. 5 with athlete check-in located at IRONMAN Village at La Quinta’s SilverRock Park. On Sunday, Dec. 7, athletes will begin their IRONMAN 70.3 journey with a 2.4-mile swim in Lake Cahuilla. Athletes will transition to the bike for a 56-mile ride across flat county roads before hitting the Thermal raceway and heading through the City of La Quinta and finishing the ride at Silver Rock Golf Resort. Athletes will then take on the two-loop, 13.1-mile run traversing the Silver Rock Golf Resort to the spectator-filled finish line back in the heart of Silver Rock Park.
Professional Field:
The 2025 IRONMAN 70.3 La Quinta triathlon will see a stellar field of professional athletes contend for a combined professional prize purse of $40,000. Many of the world’s best men and women, including Lionel Sanders (CAN), Sam Long (USA), Matt Hanson (USA), Joe Skipper (GBR), Tamara Jewett (CAN), Jackie Hering (USA), Solenne Billouin (FRA) and Stephanie Clutterbuck (GBR) will toe the start line in La Quinta looking for a late season title to add to their resume.
