On November 19, 2024, the Imperial Irrigation District Board of Directors adopted IID Resolution No. 42-2024 disbanding the Energy Consumer Advisory Committee effective December 31, 2024.

Created in 1994, the ECAC acted in an advisory capacity to the IID Board of Directors and provided critical advice to the IID Board regarding all aspects of the Power Department and its operations, recommending actions on a variety of topics, including budget needs, capital expenditures and pilot program needs.

Originally comprised of 10 members appointed by the Coachella Valley Cities and the County of Riverside, the ECAC was reconstituted in 2024 and its membership was expanded to 20 members to include representation from the Imperial Valley as well.  The IID Board of Directors ratified each nominated member.

The Imperial Valley was represented by 10 members - each Director was responsible for the selection of two appointees for his/her/their division.

The Coachella Valley was also represented by 10 members nominated by the Cities and the County of Riverside. The Cities of Indio, Coachella and La Quinta each nominated two members, while the Cities of Palm Desert and Rancho Mirage shared a member. The unincorporated areas were served by three members nominated by the County of Riverside.
