La Quinta State of the City

The Greater Coachella Valley Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the City of La Quinta, hosts the annual La Quinta State of the City and Business Awards. This annual event offers a review of economic activity from the previous year, as well as future development and plans significant to the business community. In addition to a City update, local business professionals are recognized for professional accomplishment and significant contributions to their community.

State of the City 2023

La Quinta’s 2023 State of the City was held on Thursday, September 28, at the Embassy Suites by Hilton La Quinta Hotel & Spa. The theme of the night was "Mapping Our Tomorrow."

Mayor Linda Evans and members of the La Quinta City Council celebrated the accomplishments of La Quinta and looked ahead towards the City's future with an overview of finances, capital improvement projects, economic development, new business openings and those opening soon, future developments, and significant plans relevant to the local business community. In addition to a City update, local business professionals were recognized for outstanding accomplishments and significant contributions to the community. Various awards were presented, including the distinguished La Quinta Business of the Year award.

The event ended with a special appearance from Fuego, the mascot for the local Coachella Valley Firebirds professional hockey team.

State of the City 2024

The City of La Quinta recently hosted its annual State of the City event at La Quinta Resort, providing residents and businesses with an update on key accomplishments and future plans.

Key Highlights:

  • Economic Development: The event showcased the city's continued focus on economic growth, highlighting new businesses and developments within the community.
  • Community Initiatives: Updates were provided on various community initiatives, including public safety, infrastructure improvements, and community events.
  • Future Plans: The city outlined its vision for the future, including plans for sustainable growth, community enhancement projects, and continued efforts to improve the quality of life for residents.
  • Announcements: The city announced a partnership with the Palm Springs International Film Festival for 2025. It will be the first city on the east side of the valley to host screenings at Cinemark La Quinta.
