The Building and Construction Appeals Board, established in 1985, is coordinated through the Building and Safety Department and is comprised of five members appointed by the City Council. The Board meets on an “as needed” basis to hear appeals on decisions made by the Building and Safety Department. The Board’s primary function is to determine the suitability of alternate materials, designs, tests and methods of construction.
