Please note the Building Division is still performing inspections during the City Hall Closure. Below are Special Safety Measures that are being implemented to provide for the safety of our staff and yours.

Special safety measures for residential in-home building inspections.  Special safety measures in accordance with COVID-19 guidelines are being implemented for residential home inspections for properties with active building permits.  Social distancing must be maintained and there shall be no gatherings of any number of people when a City building inspector conducts in-home inspections.  If these special safety measures cannot be accommodated, inspections will be suspended, and the permit holder will be provided a time extension for a period not to exceed 180 days without need for written request.

Special safety measures for all building inspections. At the discretion of the building inspector, if the construction site workers and/or the superintendent is not following COVID-19 guidelines then the performance of the inspection can be canceled. The inspector will make contact via phone from their vehicle at the jobsite to inform them of the assessment so they can either choose to clear the site for the inspection or recall the inspection to a date and time when the site can accommodate a City building inspector safely.  These special measures are in place for the safety of City building inspectors and residents.

When requesting an inspection using either of the two options below, please let us know if there are additional safety measures being performed at the job site so that we can be prepared or require alternate accommodations.
