In observance of Thanksgiving Day, City Offices Will Be Closed Thursday and Friday November 28th and 29th, Inspections scheduled after 4:00 PM Wednesday November 27th will be Performed Tuesday December 3rd, 2019. 

Per La Quinta Municipal Code Section 6.08.050, Thanksgiving Day is a Holiday and Disturbances by Construction Noises is Prohibited. It is a nuisance and it is unlawful, for any person to be engaged or employed, or for any person to cause any other person to be engaged or employed, in any work of construction, erection, alteration, repair, addition to, or improvement to realty.

 

Information to Know About Scheduling an Inspection

 Inspections for work authorized by a current Building Permit are Scheduled by either leaving a Voicemail on the Inspection Request Hotline or if you are a Web Portal Registered User by making the Request Online

Inspections will not be scheduled more than two business days in advance. Requests are accepted until 4:00 PM during normal business hours for next business day inspections. Next day requests received after 4:00 PM or same day requests will not be accepted. 

Building inspections are performed Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM excluding Holidays.

 We recommend that you call from a land line phone rather than a cell phone when scheduling an inspection for better audio quality of your recording. When calling to schedule an inspection, please provide the following information:

  • Area or the development where your inspection is located
  • Complete street address of the job location    
  • Permit Number on your job card
  • Type of inspection you are requesting
  • Contact phone number in case we have questions
  • If your inspection is in a gated community, please leave gate access information or make arrangements for access with your inspector
  • If this is a re-inspection, please indicate this in the message

 

Online Using the Web Portal for Registered Users at http://laquinta.trakit.net/eTRAKiT3/

 Click the above link to log into the system using your Public Registered User Login or by Selecting your Company Name from the adjacent drop-down menu based upon how you applied for your Permit.

The opening screen is your “DASHBOARD”, from here you use the “Schedule” link on the left side bar or “Request” link located next to the desired permit shown in the “My Active Permits” table. From there you will be able to select from a list of inspection types (all may not be necessary/required, consult your inspector if you have any questions), and the requested date. Make sure to “Add Inspection” for each inspection desired and click “Submit” to confirm your request.

 

Cancelling an inspection

 Call the Building Division at (760) 777-7125 to cancel an inspection.  Do not call the Inspection Request Hotline to cancel an inspection.

 

Knowing when your inspection will be performed

 The Building Division is now providing two-hour inspection windows. The inspection schedule will be posted on the website at http://www.laquintaca.gov/inspections by 8:30AM each day.
