In Fiscal Year 2016/2017, the City began a multi-year initiative to convert many of its landscaped areas (such as medians, parkways, and entrances to residential areas) to either the City’s “Desert Oasis” or “Desert Efficient” plant palette themes. Both palettes feature various drought tolerant plants, boulders, multicolored crushed rock, and drought friendly irrigation systems.
